Mega Belt Pouch

This new pouch was made under a commission based on the pouch I'd finished last week.  Same sort of general idea but per the client's request I added an internal divider, two pockets along the back wall, and a little pen loop.  It took some tricky stitching to get all that to come together but I'm fairly pleased with the results.

Pair of Purple Dino Pouches

These were commissioned last week by a mother for her daughter's wedding in a few months.  I'm told they're having a theme of dinosaurs with green and purple color schemes, which sounds like fun.  It turns out that turning veg tan leather purple is a little more challenging than it might initially seem but I think I managed to pull it off after a fair amount of experimentation.  I even chased down some green sinew so the stitching could match the rest of the color scheme.  The dinosaurs themselves were originally stained with water colors like the rest of the...

A Viney Bangle

Some days ago I'd received a request to make a bangle with a "vine" design.  A bit of a loose specification but not anything I haven't done before.  I briefly considered an intricate pattern that would've covered the entire bangle in vines and leaves.  Then I recalled the 8-9 hours it takes to complete the round braid along 14" of edging.  Heavy tooling would've had a pretty hard time surviving that, and probably wouldn't have been too visible from a distance anyway.  Maybe next time. =) The design was hand cut in the end and I used a mix of...

Black Belt w/ Celtic Tooling & Silver Buckle

I'm still building up the Foster Leathercraft business so I took it as a very good sign when I got a commission well before the Etsy store was even opening.  The client was having a difficult time finding a belt that fit and a mutual friend suggested she get in touch with me.  She was looking for a black leather belt with a simple celtic design and a silver buckle.I plotted a celtic knot design to fit along the 1.25" wide strip that made up the belt and tooled it with an inverse bevel.  Because dark stains tend to make...
